Define "own". Were you the originator of your life? Are you the preserver of your life? If no, then you are not the owner of your life. Under what premise do you consider yourself the owner?
If you own your life, you can do as you please with it.
I can do whatever I want with a car that I have stolen.
Then yes, it is yours if you can truly do what you want with it.
Tell that to the cops who will show up at your door.
If a cop prevents you from using the car, then you really can't do what you want with the car. But if you could, it's yours.
Yes if only you agree anything that humans deal in should and could be defined without an appeal to ethics.
Which I do
I do not believe you live your life without ethics or socially acceptable norms, etc. Definitions should be real and not for the sake of making definitions. If you do not live any concept the way that you define it, it is not a sincere definition in my opinion.
I might live my life in accordance to some social norms and ethics, but I do not live my life for the sake of following social norms or ethics, or consider ethics or social norms in my decisions. You are assuming I am making this definition just for the sake of making it and that it is not sincere.
You can’t really do whatever you want with a car, that the cops are forbidden you to do it or not.
If you consider the literal meaning of it, then nobody own anything.
