Due to laws of cause and effect, all future events are already logically determined by previous events.
Either the universe is deterministic, in which case you are slave to the laws of cause and effect and cannot change your destiny, or it is indeterministic and you are slave to random probabilities.
We constantly assert our will to obtain what we want. There are no physical obstructions/laws which keep us from making choices to our satisfaction. If this is all it takes to be free, then we have free will.
Nope, there are plenty of things in the world that behave in a probabilistic and non-deterministic manner. You can predict with reliability what populations of people or regions of the brain will do in certain scenarios, but not all cases, and not for individuals or neurons.
It is self-evident that we are able to make choices. We can think about our own thoughts and actions, consider different outcomes, and adjust our own mood and behavior.
This very strongly contradicts our intuitions on the matter. We all believe we have free will.
