In practice though, does a minor really have religious freedom, or the freedom to believe in different political ideas etc.? How do we separate that from parenting? IMO mutilation is a special case, but it's not about the child's religious freedom.
yes everyone has the religious freedom your parents are not allowed to force you to pray/belive in god/wear a cross around your neck (those things are not parenting) if the parents go to church and the child is to young to stay alone at home it would be parenting to force the child to go to chuch
But if parents raised a child a certain way since a young age (ex. as a Christian), the child wouldn't know any better and wouldn't question it. Ideally, yes, but in practice, it's virtually impossible to draw the line.
