In order for true world peace to occur, everyone must be equal. Many genocides and wars have begun simply because one group was thought to be superior to another.
Equality itself as a concept is important applied in a perfect world. However equality in the status quo undermines the idea of equality. This is because not everyone has the same resources and giving equal resources to people on uneven playing field does not level the playing field.
