There is nothing wrong with having no "meaning in life", as long as you can live with it.
Striving for "meaning" might be irrational, if not unrealistic and is unnecessary, for all reality might not exist at all.
Humans are mortal but "higher beings". With no sense of purpose, humans lose their value as higher animals.
Pursuing it creates a sense of purpose and satisfaction.
At least you know what to do while spending time in this lame life. At least it's not going to be boring.

Might be a fallacy since the standard used to judge the concept "works" is a belief that it is going to make X (life) not Y (boring--which seems vague here).
