Teaching evolution in biology classes should be mandatory, with no chance to opt out
Evolution is essential to biology. Since biology is mandatory, just like any other subject like math, chemistry etc. why should biology be different?
Evolution is seen as the truth by modern society, opting to not teach evolution, would be opting not to tell the truth about where we came from
It sets a precedent, that anyone can force his believes on everyone else, that creationists - such as ben carson the new boss of the department of education - might use.
This will lead us to a world in which everyone tries to grab the government to force their beliefs on everyone elses children.
1 fallacy reported.
Fallacy Of Slippery Slope
Making a scientific fact compulsory education is not "forcing a belief"
Creationism and other theories should also be presented to allow students to have an open mind without just giving the facts and say "learn it."
People have the right to choose what they desire to learn about. To insist that learning any concept be mandatory, is to insist that you have a higher right to someone else's mind than they themselves do.
