America is not strictly capitalist. Social programs such as Medicaid, Social Security, and Medicare, government-sponsored projects like federal highways and pollution control and food control are in place in America, and those make this country a Democratic Socialist state with a capitalist economy.

Equality is impossible in a capitalistic society.

"Equality" is impossible in any society, because no one can agree on the definition when there are so many variables at play. It might be something to shoot for, but since some people don't even care about it, the question is moot.
