It is necessary for any elected official to show respect and tolerance to those with different faiths and beliefs.
It depends on the belief. But if you tolerate every belief, you'll also be tolerating intolerant beliefs (racism, homophobia, etc...). In that way, no one will elect you if you tolerate every thing, because that means you'll always promote intolerance.

Teaching evolution in biology classes should be mandatory, with no chance to opt out
If you want to live in a modern society in the developed world, where one assumes knowledge and schools are a thing, evolution should be mandatory. But, in a more general, abstract sense, you're right.

Believing aliens is just as illogical as believing god.
No, we haven't. But the original argument was about god being as illogical as aliens. The fact that we are close to finding visible evidence of life on other planets, have life in this one and know the existence of a billion other planets, makes aliens more logic than god.

Everyone eligible to vote in a government elections should by law have to vote.
Or have a point system of -3 to 3.
Everyone eligible to vote in a government elections should by law have to vote.
I think that, ideally, you should have a point system. From 1 to, like, 7. And you shouldn't be forced to use all points. You could just give a 5 and walk away. That would help the people that don't know who they want to see elected, but know who they don't want to see elected... I think...

There should be a minimum age for joining any organized religion, where children are not allowed.
I was talking about the choosing of which school. Not whether they should go to school or not. That's a given, because they have to learn.
There should be a minimum age for joining any organized religion, where children are not allowed.
While I agree, it comes down to the parents. They make every choice for the child. In that same note, I believe one could make the same argument about schools.
The Holocaust didn't happen
Those are not comparable. The question was the truthfulness of Irving's claims. They were either true or false. Prevailing ideas don't matter in this case.
The Holocaust didn't happen
A couple of people lying to make money with a fabricated story doesn't seem enough to disprove the vast amount of evidence there is. Just like there have been people laying about having cancer, just to profit from their stories. That doesn't mean cancer doesn't exist.

The Holocaust didn't happen
Nope. Ad hominem would be: "He's a racist anti-semite, therefore, his opinion is not valid." But I also said that it was proven in court that he forged and bent the truth about the Holocaust. That's the part that makes me question his credibility.
The Holocaust didn't happen
Isn't David Irving the known racist anti-semite, associated with radical right wing groups, who's work was proven in court to have been falsified in order to serve his political agenda?

Appeal To Authority
The Holocaust didn't happen
I'm just really confused at about your thought process... Did you look at a vast number of tales, pictures and accounts claiming the Holocaust happened and went "Wait... This doesn't add up. I don't believe the Holocaust happened!"?
The Holocaust didn't happen
"There are not doctored images about Napoleon or his battles at Waterloo.". There are paintings. How much more doctored can you get? But I assume you believe that happened?
The Holocaust didn't happen
Again, what do you consider evidence? I'm dying to know your take on the moon landing. And slavery, as well. Also (and feel free to not answer this question, if you don't want to), are you a white guy?

The Holocaust didn't happen
You assume those videos are true, because they say they are. It's like the Christian Middle ages, see?

The Holocaust didn't happen
You seem to be trying to deminish these reactions by comparing them to religion. But anyway... By saying that, is it safe to assume that you personally, only used knowlege you attained by your own discoveries an trials?

The Holocaust didn't happen
Well, you made that assumption. The argument was about the Holocaust, And whether it happened or not. I asked you if you thought those events were related and you declined. So they become irrelevant to the discussion.

The Holocaust didn't happen
That doesn't seem to have anything to do with the original argument. Are you saying that they had that (the Holocaust) coming to them? Or they deserved it?

If we were to abolish all ethics, humanity will be able to answer many scientific things about the human body (And possibly augment it) that would have taken decades and possibly centuries to answer.
That's true. But I believe it's better the way it is. Unless people are willing to volunteer.
The Holocaust didn't happen
Totally not a logical argument but instead an emotional response. And I agree the hell out of it.
